Smooth cuts, high feed rates on sprockets and gears 4 DP and coarser, with more than 30 teeth.
The E-Z™ Cut Hob adds extra cutting edges "where the action is" - incorporating additional, shallower flutes at the hob OD, without increasing the diameter. The top 25% of the hob tooth removes 75% of the material from the part space. The E-Z™ Hob is used for both roughing and finishing operations if the parts tolerances permit. The greatest advantage of this design is realized when many teeth are in contact with the part at one time. Available as a single- or multiple-thread hob.
