Classes start each day at 8:30 a.m. and run through 11:30 a.m. Following lunch in our cafeteria, classes resume at 12:30 p.m. and finish at 4:30 p.m., with the exception of Thursday, the last day of class, when the class concludes at 1:30 p.m.

This comprehensive four (4) day program consists of a coordinated series of lectures given by Engineering, Production, and Inspection staff members. It's an ideal course for those individuals who are new to gear-making and are seeking a basic understanding of gear geometry, nomenclature, manufacturing, and inspection. It also serves as a starting point for those interested in attending the Advanced Gear Process Dynamics Clinic later.

Training groups are kept small so that individual concerns may be fully addressed. A tour and demonstrations are conducted at the Gleason Cutting Tools facility in Loves Park (Rockford), Illinois, so attendees can see the practical applicability of what they've learned.
